A two-year-old boy has died after falling into a swimming pool at a Cranston home this afternoon.

Police said police and firefighters responded to 51 Mallory Court at around 1:44 p.m. for a report of a small child who had fallen into a pool and was unresponsive.

Jayce Sherman-Chattlle was transported to Hasbro Children’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

First responders raced to the scene after the call and performed CPR as they transported the child to the hospital.
